Good morning, world.

Good morning, world.

You know, I would really like to sleep in for a while in the morning, but Sofia, Ms. I-have-to-write-in-the-morning, always wakes up too early and that disturbs me. Oh, sure, I’m gracious and pretend it doesn’t bother me, but it does. So what do I do about it? I exercise my cat rights and walk across her keyboard, timing it perfectly so that she’s in the middle of typing a line of dialogue that she mumbles aloud is perfect. I consider it putting my personal mark on her story. She doesn’t feel the same way, but hey, maybe she’ll learn her lesson and sleep in a little longer tomorrow.

I like outside, but it’s safer inside

I like outside, but it's safer inside

Every once in a while, Sofia takes me outside in my pet stroller, what I like to call my human-powered chariot, and while I really enjoy getting out to sniff whatever drifts by on the air currents, it’s kind of scary outside. There are dogs, usually off their leash, that seem like they want to chase me. How rude! It’s not like I’d chase them, so why do they want to chase me? They are not well behaved like us cats. Okay, fine, I’m only well behaved when I want food, but still, I’m a feline and we’re not expected to be lap dogs. Pun intended!

A Smart Car in the Family

So Sofia went out and bought a tiny yellow car. A Smart Car she calls it. I saw it from the window. She’s very happy about it, and went on and on about how it has plenty of room inside for her to sit and write on her laptop. That’s nice, but why didn’t she tell me she couldn’t wait to take me for a ride? I like riding in the car. I meow, of course, but it’s only because I’m enjoying myself. Then I sit down and look out the window. Maybe if I meow and cry at the door, she’ll realize I want a ride. I can be annoying, when properly motivated.

She’s not done with the queries!

When Sofia said she was finished with querying her romance novel, I thought she meant forever. Nope. She apparently meant for the week. She’s back at it again. Would somebody just take her as a client so don’t have to listen to her continuously saying how great such-and-such an agent would be? Honestly, I’m a little sick of it all. If I had thumbs, I’d write my own novel about how a crazy writer lady tortured her Sphnxi by ignoring them. Hey, we need attention at least 100 times a day. Is that too much to ask?

Put down the phone!

This is on my first birthday. See what I mean, I'm cute!

I’m annoyed. Sofia was chatting on the phone to one of her writer friends about this thing called ‘genre’ and how she likes to write in different genres. Well, I don’t know what I genre is and I don’t care to know, all I know is that she was talking too loud and laughing so much that it woke me up! I gave her a look, but she just made kissy sounds and said I was so cute. I am, but that wasn’t the look I was going for!

Hello everyone. I hope you like my site and come back many times to learn more about me and what it’s like being a Sphynx cat living with a writer. Trust me, it’s not always easy!

Sphynx cats are the best!

For those of you who don’t know what a Sphynx is, you simply must get informed. We are the best cats in the world. Yes, I know all breeds claim this illustrious title, but they’re wrong. Sphynx are best. We don’t have fur so you won’t have hairballs on your carpet and you won’t have cat fur in your food. We snuggle and play and love you to hold us. What’s better than that? That’s right, nothing. Come back often and you’ll learn how amazing we Sphynx truly are. And you’ll learn how I annoy my human companion, especially when she’s writing. She’s an author, so I really enjoy strolling across her keyboard!

This is me when I was a baby. Cute, eh?
