Couple of goodlooking Sphynx!

Couple of goodlooking Sphynx!

Yep, that’s me and Hermes wearing our latest shirts. I think we look pretty dang cool. At first when Sofia would try to dress us, we put on a show, as cats should, like she was killing us, but now we just sit there and let her put our clothes on. There’s really no point in struggling anymore because we like the clothes she buys. What I don’t like is when someone in the house thinks it’s funny to put me in a dress! Yes, they have dresses for my cat-mom and get great delight in putting me in one every now and then. I’ll post a pic later so you can witness the humiliation for yourself. It truly is awful. The memory haunts me to this day.

Cats and warm laundry

Cats and warm laundry

Here’s my brother, Hermes, enjoying the warm laundry. I didn’t need the laundry because I settled onto Sofia’s shoulder as she was writing…I mean, trying to write. It’s fun and fulfilling to steal her attention when I can. When I want love, I want love. It doesn’t matter if she’s writing or not. I’m actually doing her a favor because we Sphynx have slightly higher body temperatures than normal cats, so when you look at it, I’m keeping her warm. Like a nice, soft velvety scarf. You’re welcome, Sofia.

I love Grumpy Cat!

Monty looking upUs cats support one another since one day we will take over the world and will need all the help we can get, so when I saw a photo of a sweet little cat nicknamed Grumpy Cat on my writer-slave Sofia’s computer, I fell in love. Who couldn’t love a cat who tells the human world to take a hike? Sofia got up to go somewhere and left her computer, so I got the website that tells all about Grumpy Cat. I’m in love. (

Finally, it’s warming up!

Finally, it's warming up!

It’s been a very cold winter and my mom, me and my brother are forced to sit in front of these space heaters for warmth. Oh, sure, Sofia the writer of the family, provides us with blankets and a heated cat bed-but seriously, we deserve it, it’s not like she should be put up for a humanitarian award just because she’s doing what any human should do-we still need the heaters. It’s sunny and warm today, so the heaters are off and I’m basking in the sun. I still enjoy climbing all over Sofia, just to remind her that I’m still in charge.

Now she’s sending query letters!

This is what Hermes and I do when Sofia is writing

Just when I thought I’d get a break and get some much deserved attention, Sofia is now querying agents for her newly revised historical romantic suspense. She’s been working non-stop on the revisions, which takes time away from me, so I was happy when she cried out that she was done. But, alas, it was not to be. Now she’s researching ‘agents’ and submitting these things called query letters. How unfair. I need attention, I need to be played with, and as much as I hate to admit it, I need a bath!

Take me outside!

Me snuggling under my blankies

I’m a little upset right now. Sofia (her whole name is Sofia Diana Gabel) hasn’t taken me outside in a long time. She bought me, and Hermes, a really comfy pet stroller because we love to go out and meet people, but it’s just sitting in the trunk of her car! What good is that? I think it’s because she’s always typing on her laptop. I’ve tried everything to get her attention, from jumping onto her shoulder and purring in her ear to prancing across the keyboard. Oh, sure, she notices me all right, but all I get is a ‘Monty, not now!’ from her. And just now, she mumbled that I look dirty and need a bath. Sphynxes, if you don’t know, have to be bathed every week or so because without fur, the oils on our skin collect dirt. Hey, that’s not my fault, she should keep a cleaner house!

Sphynx cats are the best!

For those of you who don’t know what a Sphynx is, you simply must get informed. We are the best cats in the world. Yes, I know all breeds claim this illustrious title, but they’re wrong. Sphynx are best. We don’t have fur so you won’t have hairballs on your carpet and you won’t have cat fur in your food. We snuggle and play and love you to hold us. What’s better than that? That’s right, nothing. Come back often and you’ll learn how amazing we Sphynx truly are. And you’ll learn how I annoy my human companion, especially when she’s writing. She’s an author, so I really enjoy strolling across her keyboard!

This is me when I was a baby. Cute, eh?
